Vitamin supplements can play a significant part in helping maintain healthy skin, hair and nails. Vitamin C is important in keeping skin firm, as it is used by the body to form collagen. Taking Vitamin C together with Bioflavonoids may speed its absorption. Vitamin E can help maintain the appearance and health of skin. Fatty acids (such as those found in Fish oil and Evening Primrose oil) assist the skin in moisture retention, so helping to keep it soft and supple. A good diet is absolutely key to the maintenance of healthy looking skin, hair and nails. As many of us, and especially those in the teenage years, can suffer from skin blemishes partly due to dietary imbalances, the use of a good general multivitamin and mineral supplement is often advisable.
